Hi, it’s been a while since my last post which was on 2017, lol. Life’s a bit busier since then, I’ve been travelling to Korea and also being swamped with work.

I usually do reviews on gadget accessories such as iPad casing, iPhone casing, etc, but this time, I’m going to do different type of review which is skincare product review)

After my trips to South Korea, I was amazed with how the Koreans take care of their skin and this make me realize on how important the quality of the ingredients that I’m putting on my face. There are some brands in South Korea that has started the “fewer ingredients” trend and Urang is one of them.

Urang (pronounced as yoo-rang), is a brand that was started by Jina Lee, a mother and holistic aromatherapist. She started to create skincare from natural ingredients when she became pregnant with her first child (pardon me, this information was from their website , Basically you can read more from this English version website ) This “natural ingredients” has actually intrigue me to try on their products, so I bought two products, Urang Brightening Blue Serum and True Rose Repair Essence.

The blue serum contains only four ingredients, Camellia Sinensis Seed Oil, Tocopherol, (-)-alpha-bisabolol, *Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Oil (*Organic ingredient).

I’ve been using this serum for almost a month now & I can say I am satisfied with it. I notice that the acne scars tend to disappear slowly since I used it. It is a light serum and I use this serum after the True Rose Repair Essence.

As for the True Repair Essence, the scent is floral, as it contains rose essential oil and organic rose floral water. According to the brand, True Rose Repair Essence is a moisturizing essence with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. This is the full ingredient list:

Rosa Damascena Flower Water* (50.7%), Water, Glycerin* (7%), Sclerotium Gum, Betaine, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Polygonum Cuspidatum Root Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Zanthoxylum Piperitum Fruit Extract, Pulsatilla Koreana Extract, Usnea Barbata (Lichen) Extract, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil (0.1%), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract* (0.05%) (*Organic Ingredient)

It claimed that this essence is for all skin types. To be honest, I’m struggling on finding the right essence for my combination + sensitive skin, however I found that this is the only essence that does not irritate my skin (I’ve been using difference essences before, Some by Mi Galactomyces, I’m from Artemisia, Innisfree Bija Essence, etc), none of them work well on my skin.

In Conclusion

The price for the Brightening Blue Oil Serum is $59 and the Rose Essence is $47. Personally, I think that the current pricing is really a good value because you’re only using a couple drops each night, so they will last a long time. Urang includes other oils in its collection, as well as mist & sleeping mask which I would love to try someday.
