Linjer Classic Watch Review

I first started to know Linjer from their first Kickstarter campaign, where I pledged for a zip wallet. Linjer is an independent studio that makes minimalist leather bags.  I waited no further to pledge for the second time when they launched their watches collection last year. I chose the 34mm Gunmetal Classic Design with navy strap.

The Linjer watch features:

  • No branding
  • Domed sapphire crystal
  • Ronda 5 Series movement (includes date window)
  • Full grain vegetable-tanned leather
  • Came in 3 sizes, 34mm, 38mm and 41mm

I opted for their Classic Design because of the two-layer dial. The watch face is simple and bold, and as a web designer, I needed a watch that also defines me as someone from the design field. The navy strap is a bit darker than what I expected, but I have also gotten myself an extra strap, which is tan color, as it was included in the early bird pledge.

The first thing I notice about the watch is its heft and solidity. This comes from the fact that the entire casing of the Linjer is constructed from brushed stainless steel. This is how a watch should feel. It’s a different feeling of heft than the Daniel Wellington. It’s hard not to like the Linjer Classic watch, so I bought another 34mm Classic watch, which is their black edition.

In conclusion, the watches are pretty, in a classic, timeless way. These watches have become my favorites since I received them. If you’re looking for a minimalist watch, you should check out their watches collection.
